MTHS - This Sunday, October 18th, at 2:00 p.m. representatives from the five U.S. Service Academies, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, Naval , and Military Academy (West Point), as well as representatives from Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps officer programs, will hold an informational forum at Montville Township High School.

MTHS - This past weekend, 18 members of the MTHS Interact Club volunteered with the Morristown Shade Tree Commission on a community restoration project, planting trees and other greenery.

Thanks to their hard work and teamwork, the students completed the project so efficiently that organizers were able to cancel two additional days of work they had originally scheduled!

We appreciate these students, and their advisor, Ms. Dawson, for giving back to the community and making a difference!

MTHS - On Saturday, October 10th, the Montville Township High School Marching Band placed 1st at the West Milford US Bands competition! The group not only placed first in their group (1A) but also won all caption awards, including: Best Overall Effect, Best Music, Best Visual, Best Color Guard, and Best Percussion. In addition to these accomplishments, the marching band scored an 82.200, which was the highest score among all nine bands competing in the A-Class groups.

MTHS - Our Mid-Autumn Festival celebration brought Chinese culture to life through art, storytelling, and a taste of tradition.

To build excitement throughout the school, we organized a riddle challenge, a lantern-making contest, and a painting and drawing contest. The Chinese Honor Society members decorated a bulletin board to introduce the school community to traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In Chinese classes, students created personalized lanterns, enjoyed tasting mooncakes, and watched a video about the legend of Hou Yi shooting down the nine suns, and then participated in a storytelling challenge.

MTHS - Parents and guardians of our ESL students are invited to our annual ESL Family Night! Join us on October 7 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Montville Township High School Media Center, located at 100 Horseneck Road.

MTHS - Mrs. Einstein’s Biology Honors students are putting their knowledge of macromolecules to the test! Students are testing common food substances for the presence of monosaccharides and polysaccharides as part of their carbohydrates lab.

MTHS - Mr. Connolly's International Business Practice Firm (IBPF) classes participated in a team building activity called the Reverse Pyramid Activity designed to highlight teamwork, planning, communication, and problem solving. Working in groups, students were challenged to build the largest pyramid using Solo cups, but with restrictions regarding the building process such as only being able to build from the bottom up adding rows of cups to the bottom of the pyramid. The activity encouraged students to strategize, communicate effectively, and adapt when their original plans didn't work. These skills will be valuable as students begin working together as part of a virtual company, taking on different roles and responsibilities.

MTHS - Mrs. Einstein’s Biotechnology class got hands-on with DNA by extracting it from a variety of fruits, including cherries, strawberries, clementines, bananas, and blueberries! Students put their biotechnology skills to the test in a friendly competition to see which group could extract the most visible DNA. Congratulations to Vivian Wei, Aum Mistry, Chloe Finnerty, and Amudhini Subramanian for their winning strawberry DNA extraction!

MTHS - Our Club Fair was in full swing during lunch today! Students had the chance to explore the many clubs and activities available at MTHS, meet current members, and find new ways to get involved.

MTHS - Officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 72nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $24 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. About 95 percent of Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and approximately more than half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar® title.

MTHS - Join us tonight for the 2nd Annual Art & Design Show from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the Main Gymnasium.

The exhibition features outstanding student work from across our school's fine and practical arts departments, showcasing the creativity, talent, and dedication of students in a wide range of courses. From traditional artwork to design-based projects, the display highlights the impressive work being created in our classrooms every day.

Whether you have a student participating or simply appreciate great art, this is an event you won't want to miss. The quality of the work on display is truly remarkable.

MTHS - Mr. Connolly and his IBPF classes held the 5th annual Family Night where family members were invited to hear about the class and view various presentations by the students/employees of TempStep and HydroSync. The 20 students presented various work artifacts created throughout the year as part of running their respective virtual companies. These included examples of each company's branding packet, social media posts, business plan, television commercial, website, newsletter, and sales report.

MTHS - Congratulations to the winners of the Research in Molecular Biology Poster Symposium! Vivian Wei, Aum Mistry, Padmini Pillala, and Amudhini Subramanian were recognized for their poster presentation, FNR, and will represent Montville Township High School at the annual Rutgers Symposium on June 1st. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, and best of luck at Rutgers!

MTHS - Montville Township High School is proud to recognize Amy Zhang as Valedictorian and Anisha Mulinti as Salutatorian of the Class of 2026. These two exceptional students have distinguished themselves through outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to their school and community. Amy will attend Dartmouth College, where she plans to study Economics and Biological Sciences, and Anisha will attend the University of Pennsylvania, where she plans to pursue a dual-degree program in Computer Science and Finance through the Wharton School.

MTHS - Congratulations to the students in Mr. Connolly’s International Business Practice Firm (IBPF) classes who participated in the Youth Business Summit national competitions and trade show last week in New York City!

Both student companies, HydroSync and TempStep, broke the previous year’s sales records. TempStep generated $72,000 in sales of its temperature-changing insoles, while HydroSync led the way with $86,000 in sales of its smart hydration-tracking wearables.

Additional congratulations to the TempStep Human Resources Competition Team, Esha Jain and Maddie Forte, who advanced to the semifinals and finished in the Top 12 nationally. Recognition also goes to the Business Plan Competition Team, Muhammad Jafri, Aiden Blumenthal, Tyler Lieberman, Amna Bukhari, Esha Jain, and Xavier Villaluz, for finishing in the Top 50 in the country.

MTHS - Mount Olive High School’s Art Honor Society hosted its annual exhibition on March 10, 2026. Thirteen high schools around the state were invited to submit ten pieces of artwork. The exhibition featured a wide range of art, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, crafts, and mixed media. College representatives attended as guest jurors, evaluating the work and awarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category, along with an overall Best of Show for one exceptional piece.

Moore College of Art & Design artistically accepts Stephanie Brig with a scholarship of up to $25,000 for her ceramic piece, "4 of a Kind."

MTHS - Students in forensic science complete a poison detection lab for their toxicology unit.

MTHS - The Montville Township High School Art Department is proud to announce that six of our students have been selected for this year’s Blackwell Street Artists High School Exhibition. More than 500 pieces were submitted by 14 high schools across Morris County, with fewer than half chosen for inclusion. The selected artwork will be on display at the Morris County Atrium Gallery, located on the 5th floor of the Morris Administrative Building (10 Court Street, Morristown), from March 30 through April 30, 2026. A reception and awards ceremony will be held on April 9th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

MTHS - Today we celebrated our amazing spring athletes and showed our school spirit as they head into their season.
