Do you remember things from school?’ It’s not crazy, esoteric stuff. A lot is basic U.S. history and science. I think about European history in 12th grade and my science classes, like biology with Mr. Brick. The Robert R. Lazar Middle School Chamber Choir of 41 grade 7 and 8 students performed at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, April 13, 2025. When a YouTube video of them singing a work by renowned conductor and composer Greg Gilpin, was brought to the attention of Distinguished Concerts International New York [DCINY], the Montville Township Public Schools middle school students were invited to sing two new works at Carnegie Hall. Gilpin conducted.
The Lazar Chamber Choir, an audition-based choral group of grade 7 and grade 8 students, was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall on April 13, 2025. The singers were part of a choir that was titled the “Gilpin Chorus.” Conducted by renowned conductor and composer Greg Gilpin, the Lazar Chamber Choir was among eight other choirs who had been selected from across the United States.
Robert R. Lazar Middle School music teacher Jordan Green listens as the Lazar Chamber Choir performs at Carnegie Hall. Green described the musical abilities of the grade 7 and 8 students as they sang at Carnegie Hall as “Pure musical magic.”
Two members of the Robert R. Lazar Middle School Chamber Choir, eighth grade singers Max Belov and Aadit Tembe, auditioned and were selected to perform small group features at Carnegie Hall under the direction of renowned composer and conductor Greg Gilpin. Aadit Tembe is center in the trio, Max Belov stands to the right in the trio, and renowned composer and conductor Greg Gilpin conducts eight choirs from across the USA, including the 41 members of the Lazar Chamber Choir.

Are you ready to “TRAIN LIKE A ‘STANG”? The Lady Stang cheerleaders are inviting all youth Montville athletes to join our team for a once in a lifetime performance! You’ll learn skills and a routine from the Mustang cheerleaders that will be performed at a home game! After attending our clinics, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a pre-game performance and cheer during the first quarter with the Varsity cheerleaders on Friday, 9/26 at 6:30 PM. Arrival time will be at 5:30 PM to perform pregame performance at 6:00 PM! SUMMER! MEDLC Enrichment! Disney's FROZEN Jr. Music teacher Jordan Green, of Robert R. Lazar Middle School, will spearhead this outstanding Summer MEDLC Enrichment program. Timothy Faherty and Ashlee Tancredi, both of Lazar's spring production of FREAKY FRIDAY, will also lead the creative team. Auditions for the MEDLC Enrichment Summer Musical Theatre Camp are Saturday, June 7 at Lazar. The Summer MEDLC Musical Theatre Camp is for ages 10 to 16. PERFORMANCES ARE AUGUST 14, 15 & 16. Camp runs Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., for 6 weeks, from July 7 through August 13, at Montville Township High School.
