MTHS - Each year, the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) emphasize the vital role sportsmanship plays in high school athletics. Coaches, in particular, set the tone for competition, modeling the conduct and values that student-athletes carry onto the field.
In recognition of these ideals, the Northwest Chapter 1 Field Hockey Officials Association has established the Outstanding Sportsmanship Award, honoring coaches whose behavior and leadership throughout the season exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship. These individuals embody the principles promoted by the NFHS and NJSIAA and serve as positive role models for players, colleagues, and the broader school community.
The Northwest Chapter 1 Field Hockey Officials Association has honored MTHS Coach Aimee Vizzuso with the 2025 Outstanding Sportsmanship Award for Morris County. In addition to this honor, Coach Vizzuso is a proud former Mustang and graduate of Montville Township High School (Class of 2013) , making this recognition especially meaningful for our school community.
The entire MTHS community, and especially the field hockey team, congratulates Coach Vizzuso on this honor!
