Montville Township High School Invites Incoming Students and Parents to Orientation on Wed., Feb. 7 at 7:00 PM  New Students Will Have Opportunity to Learn About Innovative and Varied Programs and Activities  Montville Township, New Jersey – Incoming freshmen, and other students who will be new to Montville Township High School in fall 2024, are encouraged to accompany their parents or guardians to the “Incoming Student Orientation.” The orientation will begin in the MTHS auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7 (snow date February 8).  Students and parents will have an opportunity learn more about the school’s innovative curriculum and programs.  Current MTHS students, will join faculty, administrators, and staff to answer questions and to introduce incoming students to classes, clubs, activities, and teams.  “This is a wonderful opportunity for students and their parents and guardians,” said Superintendent Dr. Thomas A. Gorman. “I encourage all students who will be attending MTHS in the fall to come out to MTHS for the ‘Incoming Student Orientation.’”  Montville Township High School is located at 100 Horseneck Road, Montville Township, New Jersey. Kindergarten Registration for Montville Township Public Schools’ 2024-2025 academic year opens Tuesday, January 9, 2024. All children of residents of Montville, Pine Brook, or Towaco, New Jersey, who have reached the age of five on or before October 1, 2024, are eligible for Kindergarten. Parents/Guardians must complete On-Line Registration for each child attending Kindergarten.  The 2024-2025 Kindergarten Registration deadline is Monday, February 12, 2024.

In the spring of 2023, Lazar 8th Grade student Audriana Giudice submitted her poem, about the power of words, to the John Estey Student Writing Competition sponsored by the American Writers Museum [AWM]. Giudice was encouraged by Lazar English teacher, Suezette Given, to submit the poem.

Montville Township residents are encouraged to attend one of two upcoming, district-wide, referendum presentations. The first will be held in-person during the Montville Township Board of Education meeting. The public meeting begins at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Montville Township Municipal Building, 195 Changebridge Road.
Montville Township High School senior Ananya Bhat with her second-place award from the National Yale Invitational Speech and Debate Competition. Bhat placed 2nd in the Humorous Interpretation category. Those who place in finals at the Yale Invitational get a bid to Nationals (NSDAs) at the end of the school year in June.
Fifth grade students Sean Holzmann and Jessica Yeung led thirty-two of their Valley View Elementary School classmates in the sustained 15-minute exercise event. EXERCISE US was founded 15 years ago at Valley View Elementary School in Montville Township, New Jersey. The program is a 10-hour, coast to coast – and beyond – wave of exercise that breaks across the nation to raise awareness of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month in the United States. Hundreds of schools and thousands of students participate during 15 minute blocks of time in different time zones across the US, and its territories.
35 Years of Service: Kathleen Zaleski, Valley View; Debra Jarvie, Woodmont; and Naomi McCloskey, MTHS, were honored for 35 Years of Service to the Montville Township Public Schools district. At the start of the 2023-2024 school year the three were among the 58 teachers who were honored by Montville Township Public Schools for 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 Years of Service.
