Members of the Woodmont community recently came together in a meaningful show of remembrance and unity by participating in the Morris County Hot Cocoa Run in honor of Ms. Winifred Wess, a dedicated Montville Township Public Schools educator for more than 35 years who passed away on November 22, 2024.
A total of 27 runners proudly represented Ms. Wess’ lasting impact and the strong sense of community she helped foster throughout her career. 11 Woodmont staff members took part in the run alongside 16 parents, former students, and friends, all united by their shared connection to and admiration for Ms. Wess.
Known for her unwavering commitment to students, colleagues, and families, Ms. Wess left an indelible mark on generations within the MTPS community. Her passion for education, kindness, and dedication to Woodmont School continue to be felt long after her passing.
The Hot Cocoa Run served not only as a physical challenge, but also as a heartfelt tribute—an opportunity for the MTPS community to honor Ms. Wess’ legacy, support one another, and celebrate the enduring bonds she helped create.
