SHREK THE MUSICAL is the spring production for the Montville Township High School Drama Club. The performers will stage the Tony Award-winning musical Thursday through Sunday, March 1 through 4 at MTHS. SHREK THE MUSICAL is based on the 2001 Dreamworks movie. Tickets to this fun family production are only $15 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens. Show times are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance.

“There is a lot more to the character of SHREK than people think,” said Joo. “All throughout the show he is just trying to find himself. He realizes he can be something more – something bigger – not just what the people want him to be.”

Also performing are: Carly Benson, Jessica Blake, Gabby Casiano, Liz Catto, Jacob Choc, Nick Colombo, Jeffrey Gallup, Michelle Georgescu, Skyler Herman, Jack Iaci, Matt Krase, Nina Lewin, Jackie Montano, Julia Musilli, Will O'Donnell, Alicia Oh, Ryan Ohl, Anna Rehberg, Gigi Robertiello, Dominique Sawieljew, Matt Shupack, Jadyn Silverberg, Declan Sullivan, Alexa Zammit and Emma Zwickel.

SHREK is Joo’s third MTHS Spring musical and Nagel’s fourth.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Nagel said. “Our cast is a family.”

The outstanding creative team of Scott Baird and Kristen Markowski will once again serve as producers and directors of the MTHS Spring musical. Baird and Markowski produced last season’s hit The Drowsy Chaperone.

Also on board are: Choreographer, Caitlin Camuccio; Musical Director, Andrew Havington; Scenic Designer, Paul Meacham; Costume Designer Susan Kenny; Properties Designer Karen Holeczko; Art Director, Eileen Racioppi; Lighting Designer Kevin Ohlweiler; Production Stage Manager, Brenden Silverman and Production Coordinator, Pam Wilczynski.

The actors and other members of the MTHS Drama Club will also hold a CHARACTER BRUNCH on Sunday, March 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Children and families will have an opportunity to meet the characters, take photos and enjoy breakfast in the MTHS cafeteria. Tickets to the CHARACTER BRUNCH fundraiser are $5.00 at the door.

SHREK THE MUSICAL will run for four performances only from Thursday through Saturday, March 1, 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. Performances will be held at the Dr. Robert O. Stafford Auditorium in the Montville Township High School, 100 Horseneck Road, Montville, NJ.
