Rock’s-Giving III - Montville School of Rock concert to benefit the Class Of 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020
The School of Rock at Montville Township High School hopes to raise at least $1,000 on Tuesday November 22, 2016 with its annual Rock’s-Giving concert series.
Rock's-GivingIII is a family friendly evening of musical classics from rock and roll to rap, School of Rock has something for everyone...including dinner!
Held the week of Thanksgiving, Rock’s-Giving, by School of Rock, has raised funds for such causes as the Montville Township Drug Awareness Council’s Project Graduation and Homeless Bus. The November 22 event will help support all MTHS classes from 2017-2020.
A performing arts club dedicated to great music and helping the community, School of Rock plays several times each school year and throughout the summer to benefit Montville Township community causes.
The group was launched over ten years ago by Montville Township High School teacher Anthony Sia.
“Once a member, always a member,” said Sia.
The student led group, which also includes alumni, practices daily at lunch time, after school and on Sundays. The student musicians jam regularly. Former students often attend practices and performances. Together they learn to cover hits from all genres.
“There is no other club like this,” Sia said. “Where else can musicians at all levels come together and just learn to be great? And, the really great thing is, these kids really work hard both musically, as well as for their community.”
Donation amounts to the School of Rock’s Rock’s-GivingIII concert $10 for dinner and the show. The concert will begin at 7:30 PM and will be held in the MTHS Robert O. Stafford Auditorium at 100 Horseneck Road in Montville, New Jersey. Tickets will be sold at the door.
