MTHS Selects Recipient of 2019-2020 Princeton University Distinguished Secondary School Teaching Award

Recently, a committee of individuals met to discuss the significant number of nominations received regarding the Princeton University Distinguished Secondary School Teaching Award. Based on much discussion and deliberation amongst the members of that committee, it is my distinct honor to announce the Montville Township High School recipient of the Princeton University Distinguished Secondary School Teaching Award—Mr. James Queen. While I can speak of his tremendous commitment to students and their education, it is the words of his peers that I feel capture, most effectively, his impact on the MTHS community:

[Excerpt from nominations]

On behalf of Mr. James Queen…

The nominee's intellectual leadership among colleagues and the extent of his contributions to curriculum development that have resulted in stronger programs and improved student performance. James has truly embraced Schoology this year and has become a go-to person who is willing to spend time and engage in lively and productive conversation on the topic.”

Mr. Queen will represent MTHS in the continuing competition, hosted by Princeton University. A very small number of teachers will be selected and recognized at the Commencement Exercises this coming spring.
