If you have a child between the ages 3 through 21 and suspect the child has a disability that negatively affects the child’s learning, and you live in Montville Township, please contact the Office of Special Services. Programs

Montville Township Public Schools offers in class resource (ICR) and resource (RR) programs grades Kindergarten-12 for students to be educated in the least restrictive environment. That model of delivery is a team-teaching approach that uses highly qualified special education and general education teachers. It enables classified students to participate in general education classes to the maximum extent possible.

Special class programs are available, grades Preschool-12 and ages 18-21, for students who need intensive support and/or more than a half day of replacement instruction. The special class provides a small, structured, nurturing and highly individualized environment with one teacher for all areas of instruction and paraprofessional support as deemed appropriate and per New Jersey Administrative Code Title 6A Chapter 14 Regulations.

Our special class programs include:

  • Learning Independence for Tomorrow (LIFT) for grades Preschool-5

  • Learning and/or Language Disabilities (LLD) for grades K-12

  • Structured Integrated Learning (SIL) for grades 6-12

  • Academic, Career and Community Education (ACCE) for grades 6-12

  • Advanced ACCE for 18-21 year old students

Please visit the Resource and Special Class Programs page to read more about our programs.
