Comprising schools from pre-kindergarten to grade 12, the Montville Township Public Schools district is known for its high-achieving academic institutions. With a student population of 3,500, the district consists of five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The elementary schools cater to students from kindergarten to grade 5, while the middle school serves grades 6 through 8. The district's high school accommodates 1,100 students from grades 9 to 12. Additionally, two of the elementary schools offer a dynamic integrated pre-K program, and there is a strong emphasis on small-group instruction and support services.

Substitute Teachers and Nurses
You must possess a valid NJ Teacher Certificate or a current NJ Substitute credential to become a Substitute in our district:
If you do not currently possess a valid Substitute Credential, please apply online through the State of NJ. Please note: In order to obtain a Substitute Credential, you must:
Have 30 College Credits and be currently enrolled in an accredited institution, or
Possess 60 College credits.
Substitute Rates:
$125.00 Substitute Teacher (Para) per diem.
$200.00 Substitute Nurse per diem.
After obtaining your substitute teacher certificate (or if you already have a teaching certificate), please print and email your certificate along with the following documents to melissa.fasano@montville.net. Oath of Allegiance (US Citizen | Non-Citizen)
Direct Deposit Form (Attach a voided check or a direct deposit letter from your bank).
Federal W-4 Form (must include the number of allowances you wish to claim)
NJ W-4 Form (must include the number of allowances you wish to claim)
I-9 Employment Eligibility Form – Please also include copies of two (2) forms of identification.
Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Release – If you have worked for school entities or in a position involving direct contact with children within the last 20 years, please complete Section 1 for each employer.
Consent for Mantoux Tuberculin Test - Proof of the TB test is required and must be certified by a licensed healthcare professional.
Physician’s Letter of Medical Clearance - This appointment may be scheduled with your personal physician or our school physician, Dr. Rehberg, if necessary. Contact information for Dr. Rehberg is provided at the bottom of the form.
