Curriculum and Instruction Overview

Welcome to the Montville Township Curriculum and Instruction Page!

Here at Montville Township Public Schools, we are dedicated to providing our students with a comprehensive and challenging curriculum that embraces a range of instructional approaches. We use a data-driven approach to review and refine our curriculum, allowing us to meet the diverse needs of our students. Through differentiation, our teachers ensure that every student receives a tailored education that considers their individual prior knowledge, interests, and academic readiness. We also provide specialized support services, including special education, English as a Second Language, and enrichment programs, to comply with legal requirements and promote effective teaching. By fostering collaboration among teachers within and across schools, we strive to deliver the best possible instruction for our students.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction remains responsive to the evolving demands of the 21st-century global community. Our district's online curricular resources, course offerings, and digital learning opportunities for both students and staff are grounded in evidence-based practices and incorporate the latest educational standards. Our team of experienced directors and instructional supervisors collaborates closely with each other and with district principals to ensure that students at every grade level receive an exceptional educational experience in Montville Township.

We take pride in introducing new and enhanced instructional programs each year. For the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, we are piloting innovative English language arts/literacy programs at the elementary and middle school levels. Additionally, we have updated our elementary math program to align with the latest educational research. At the high school level, we have made modifications to the Science Research Program to reflect the evolving interests of students and industry protocols. Moreover, our high school science department will be offering Microbiology, enabling students to take the Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE) upon completion of their coursework. The BACE is an industry-recognized examination that assesses core skills and knowledge sets identified by the biotechnology field and aligns with academic and performance standards.

We are excited to provide these exciting opportunities and initiatives to our students as we strive for excellence in education. Together, with the support of our dedicated staff, engaged parents, and motivated students, we can continue to elevate the educational experience in Montville Township.

Once again, welcome to the Montville Township Curriculum and Instruction Page, where we are committed to nurturing the potential of every student and preparing them for a successful future.

Sincerely,
