Board Goals
2025-2026
Goal 1: The Board of Education will support and monitor the implementation of rigorous and innovative instructional programs by reviewing curriculum initiatives, setting relevant policy, and ensuring that all students are provided with meaningful opportunities to achieve their fullest academic potential.
Goal 2: The Board of Education will advocate for and adopt policies that prioritize student well-being, mental health, and a positive school culture, while engaging with the community to ensure that all students feel safe, supported, and connected within their school environment.
Goal 3: The Board of Education will maintain strong fiscal oversight by approving budget decisions that align with educational priorities, communicating openly with the public about financial challenges and decisions, and ensuring that taxpayer funds are managed transparently and responsibly to preserve high-quality programs and services.
Goal 4: The Board of Education will oversee the progress of all capital improvement projects and work collaboratively with the administration to evaluate district facilities, ensuring that infrastructure needs are addressed through updated long-range planning that supports safe and modern learning environments.
2024-2025
Goal 1: The Board of Education will promote a collaborative teaching, learning, and assessment environment that inspires creativity, innovation, and differentiation to support all learners.
Goal 2: The Board of Education will continue communication with the community to ensure transparency and continued collaboration.
Goal 3: The Board of Education will provide support to the district administration to enable the successful completion of the construction aspects of the facilities across the district.
Goal 4: The Board of Education will establish a process to measure school wellness and climate, and use the data to inform practice to create positive growth, engaged students, and a healthy sense of belonging within the District.
2023-2024
Goal 1: The Board of Education will continue to support one another by further enhancing our skills through training in order to more extensively fulfill our roles and responsibilities.
Goal 2: The Board of Education will deepen the understanding of the roles/responsibilities of the Superintendent so that the Board can most effectively perform its oversight and accountability roles of what is expected and how they can be achieved.
Goal 3: The Board of Education will provide support to the district administration to enable the successful completion of the current and future construction projects of the facilities across the district.
Goal 4: The Board of Education will successfully complete the negotiations of successor agreements to the collective bargaining agreements with the Montville Township Education Association, the Montville Township Administrators Associations, and the Montville Township Supervisors of Instruction Association.
2022-2023
Goal 1: The Board of Education will work together with the new Superintendent to provide for a successful leadership transition.
Goal 2: The Board of Education will continue to support one another by maintaining a culture of respect and by further enhancing our skills through training.
Goal 3: The Board of Education will deepen the understanding of the roles/responsibilities of the Superintendent so that the Board can most effectively perform its oversight and accountability roles.
2021-2022
Goal 1: Working with the New Jersey Schools Boards Association, the Board will successfully complete a search for a new superintendent with the target timeframe of a January 1, 2022 start date for the new superintendent.
Goal 2: The Board will complete the necessary professional development credits to qualify for the Master Board Certification through the New Jersey School Boards Association.
Goal 3: The Board will provide support to the district administration to enable the successful completion of the facilities construction projects and ESIP projects across the district.
