Instructional Coach
Welcome! My name is Laura Catalano, and I am the instructional coach at Woodmont Elementary. I hold both a Teacher and Supervisor Certificate with a Psychology Degree and a Graduate Degree in Instructional Practice.
In my role as the instructional coach, I am responsible for the academic success of every student at Woodmont. To achieve this goal, I work directly with teachers, students, and parents. I provide professional development and coaching support to teachers to assist them in delivering effective instruction that is differentiated to meet students’ needs. I also work directly with students to remediate skills and connect with families to bridge school and home efforts.
I serve on Woodmont’s Multi-tiered System of Supports Committee, which allows me to assist teachers with action plans, targeted goals, and interventions for students who need additional support. I work closely with our Basic Skills Team to coordinate the delivery of services for students in need of Tier 2 intervention. Additionally, I meet with families and teachers to determine if additional support and referrals are needed for our Child Study Team.
I am part of the Gifted and Talented Committee, which reviews data and makes recommendations for curriculum acceleration. I assist in the implementation of all district programs and new curriculum. As an instructional coach, I coordinate standardized testing, including planning, execution, and data analysis.
If any parent needs additional information about district programs or details regarding their child’s academics, I would be happy to assist along with the classroom teacher.
