Instructional Coach

At William Mason School, I feel fortunate to serve as the Instructional Coach, a role that allows me to work alongside teachers, administrators, and students to make learning meaningful and engaging. My goal is to support our educators in bringing out the very best in each child by strengthening curriculum and instruction, and by making sure every student has access to the resources and strategies they need to thrive.

A big part of my work involves analyzing data and overseeing the Basic Skills Instructional (BSI) program, where I partner with intervention teachers to track progress and provide targeted support. I also work closely with teachers and administrators to determine students in need of advanced programming via our Gifted and Talented Program.

Just as important, I focus on building strong relationships with students and staff, fostering a culture of trust, encouragement, and growth. By promoting a growth mindset, I help our community embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and celebrate successes along the way.

With a background as a certified reading specialist and advanced degrees in educational leadership, I bring both experience and a deep passion for helping children grow. Every day, I am inspired by the hard work of our students and the dedication of our teachers, and I am grateful to be part of a school community that values collaboration, resilience and continuous growth.

Warmly,

Maria Millan, Ed.S
