Where do I find Registration Information?

Can my child bring a snack to school?

Yes! Students have snacks in their classroom. 

If my child doesn’t ride the bus, where should I meet them for pick-up at the end of the day? Students who do not take the bus are picked up in the car line where staff members assist to get them to their car  safely. 

What should I do if my child is absent?

Please call the nurse if your child will be absent at 973-331-7100 x1610 or x1611. Her website also has  information regarding our health policies. Her page can be located under the School Department tab on the  William Mason webpage.  

How can I get involved in the school?

Support your school’s HSA. The HSA offers many chances for you to get involved, whether you can be at  school during the day, or if you have a skill that you can use from home at night or on the weekends. The HSA  appreciates the time and help you can give. 

Do you offer aftercare or morning care?

Montville Extended Day Learning Center (MEDLC) is a before school and after school program for students in  grades K-8. Students need to be registered to attend this program, along with a fee. Normal morning hours are  7:00 am, until the opening of school. Normal evening hours are 2:45pm until 6:00 pm. Scheduled early  dismissal days' evening hours are 12:45 until 6:00 pm. In the event of a delayed opening, morning hours are  9:00 am until the opening of school. In the event of an unscheduled early dismissal, MEDLC MAY be open until  6:00 pm. In the event of a school cancellation, morning and evening MEDLC will be closed. More information  on the MEDLC program can be found on the website.  

What can I do to make this year successful for my child? 

∙ Help your child complete all homework assignments.

∙ Check your child’s book bag and lunch box every day for uneaten food and paperwork from the school. ∙.  

∙ Check the communication folder for notices from school.

∙ Volunteer at least twice a year, preferably more.

∙ Don’t hesitate to contact the teacher if you have any concerns.

∙ Attend the scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences.

∙ Ask the teacher about your child’s social interaction with others.

∙ Celebrate each report card.

∙ Attend birthday parties of other classmates to get to know other classmates. ∙ Attend HSA events. These are great ways for you and your child to have fun with their classmates  outside of school.
