Delayed Opening

Doors will open at 10:00 AM
Students are considered late if they arrive after 10:10 AM
Students will be dismissed at 2:45 PM

Parents are not allowed to walk to the front door or park in the parking lot. Parents must walk their child or use the carline.

Parents who walk their children will have to drop students off about halfway up the sidewalk. A teacher will be there to help ensure your child gets to the right place.

Parents who use the carline should not arrive before 8:00. If you are the first one in line please only pull up to the orange cone to allow our buses the ability to pass and unload students first.

You must drive into the upper parking lot, circling to the right, and then exit the lots staying to your right. You will drop your child off in front of the school. Do NOT drop children off at the playground, or in the upper or lower parking lots. Since several parents may utilize this process, staff members will facilitate a smooth drop off process by assisting your child onto the sidewalk and into the building.

Children must exit cars on the passenger side of the car, closest to the curb.

You may wish to drop your child off on Jarombek Drive and have the crossing guard help them across the road and onto the sidewalk.

If any students have difficulty separating from you or exiting the car, you will need to exit the parking lot and re-enter the car line once the child is ready to enter the building.

Teachers cannot open the car door for your child. We understand some students may have difficulty doing this. Please practice with them before the first day of school.

Please do not park on Pepper Road to drop off you child! Also, NO PARKING is allowed along the curb at anytime of the day as this is reserved for buses, emergency vehicles and deliveries.

For the first few days of school kindergarten teachers will meet their students outside.

There are 3 ways students can be dismissed:

BUS students will be dismissed by grade level and walked to the bus by an adult.

PARENT PICKUP students will be dismissed out of the front door to a parent or guardian.

CROSSING GUARD / WALKERS will line up in the gym and a staff member will walk them to the crossing guard on Jarombek to be dismissed.

PEPPER ROAD students will be dismissed out of the side door to Pepper Road. A staff member does not walk them.

• Leaving School Early — If you need to take your child home due to illness or a family emergency please sign your child out to be released to you through the main office only. Please do not call the school in anticipation of your appointment. When you arrive at school, please ring the bell and scan the QR code to sign out your student. One of the school secretaries will call to the classroom for your child to come to the main office with his/her belongings.

• Parking - When you come to Cedar Hill, please utilize the upper parking lot for parking. The lower lot will no longer be utilized for parking. It only will be opened if there is a special program during the day or evening.

• Changes- If there are any changes to your child's schedule, please include a note on Genesis before 11:00. If a note is not submitted, your child's normal routine will be followed.

If you need to walk your child into the building, please park in a space in the upper parking lot. DO NOT PARK your car along the curb and walk your child into the building. When picking up your child, please follow the same procedure of parking in the upper parking lot and walking to the building.

Multiple late pick-ups or violations of the procedure set forth below will result in a mandatory phone conference with administration.

Riding on the school bus is an extension of the school day. As such, it is extremely important that students listen to the bus driver, are respectful of other students, practice bus safety, and use common sense as they do in your vehicles.  Please speak to your child prior to the first day of school about riding on the bus. Please let your child know that if there is any concern, he or she should notify the bus driver.

Sometimes your child may forget an assignment, lunch, book, musical instrument, etc.  If it is deemed necessary that your child call home, we will help them through this process. If you bring an item to school, please drop it off directly to the main office and the office staff will make sure it gets to your child.  Please make sure the item is labeled with the name of your child along with the name of the classroom teacher.  Please make every effort to send your child to school with all their necessary items for the day.
