Mr. Wayne Guarino earned his B.A. in History with a minor in Secondary Education from Saint Peter’s College in 2007. He went on to receive an M.A. in Education from The College of New Jersey in 2011 and later earned an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University in 2016.

Mr. Guarino began his teaching career at Montville Township High School in May 2008. Throughout his tenure, he has held several coaching positions, including Head Bowling Coach, Assistant Baseball Coach, Assistant Girls Tennis Coach, and Assistant Football Coach.

He currently serves as Vice President of the Morris County Athletic Directors Association and acts as Tournament Director for Bowling, Softball, and Girls Basketball. Additionally, Mr. Guarino was recently named Vice President of the Super Football Conference.

He is actively working toward completing the Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) program through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

The MTHS Athletic Department is a dedicated community of student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and supporters committed to excellence in sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.

What do we want to accomplish?

 Our mission is to foster a positive and inclusive environment where student-athletes can thrive academically, physically, and emotionally. We aim to develop well-rounded individuals who excel in their sports, lead with integrity, and contribute positively to their community.

How do we intend to accomplish these goals?

1.     Offering top-notch coaching, facilities, and resources to ensure our athletes reach their full potential.

2.     Encouraging a balance between athletics and academics, ensuring our student-athletes succeed in the classroom and on the court or field.

3.     Instilling values of respect, fairness, and collaboration in all our programs and activities.

4.     Building strong partnerships with parents, alumni, and local organizations to support and enhance our athletic programs.

5.     Encouraging leadership, resilience, and personal responsibility, preparing our athletes for success in all aspects of life.

 

Together, we will strive to create a legacy of excellence and pride for Montville Township High School Athletics.
