TGIF! Yesterday we had a Fire Safety program.  Two Towaco firefighters visited Cedar Hill and talked to the students about their roles within our community and fire safety tips.  If your child asks you to check the batteries in your fire or carbon dioxide detectors, now you know why!

We started our math centers this week and the kids loved them!  After our full class math lesson, the students have time to work independently and then rotate through centers.  During centers they visit with a teacher to review that day's lesson and practice previously learned skills independently at other stations.

The students explored meditation this week as well as practiced some yoga poses for our Mindfulness initiative.  We visited another classroom so we could spread out and do some "larger" yoga poses while we stated a new affirmation, "I am strong!"  We also sat down for a short guided meditation which got me thinking... Do you have any extra/old yoga mats we could use to sit or lay on for Mindfulness activities?  If you don't have any currently, would you consider donating a new one? We would greatly appreciate it!

    Have a FABULOUS weekend!
