The study of a world language develops and encourages the communicative proficiency necessary in today’s pluralistic society. It should foster understanding and tolerance of other cultures in an ever changing world.
The selection of the specific languages studied should be relevant to student interests and needs. If language is personal, it is meaningful.
Our classroom activities and assessments involve students using the three modes ofcommunication (interpretive, interpersonal, presentational) as well as demonstrating cultural awareness and understanding.
Our goal is to provide a comfortable and engaging classroom environment in which all students are encouraged to work to their fullest potential."One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way."
