I am very excited to be returning to William Mason as a First Grade teacher! This year I will begin my 18th year as an elementary teacher in Montville. I am a proud graduate of both Lazar Middle School and Montville High School. I attended Drew University in Madison, NJ where I earned my B.S. in Psychobiology along with my Elementary Teaching Certification from The College of St. Elizibeth. I have my Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Nova Southeastern, along with an additional 30 credits in Special Education.
After completing my student teaching in First Grade at Valley View School, I began teaching Kindgergarten at William Mason in 2001. After 8 years of teaching Kindgartgen, I had the opportunity to teach Second Grade at William Mason for 2 years followed by another 3 years of teaching Third Grade. In 2013, I was excited to be offered the position of Elementary Computer Speciaist for grades 3, 4, and 5 throughout the distrcit. Traveling to all five of the elementary schools in Montville gave me a uniqe opportunity to see a variety teaching styles and classroom enviroments. In 2015, after attending Courses and Workshops at TCNJ Center For Excellence in STEM Education, I began to teach S.T.E.A.M in grades 4 and 5 district wide and helped launch the S.T.E.A.M program at the elementary level in Montville. Now, after 3 years of teaching S.T.E.A.M, I am thirlled to be back at William Mason as a classroom teacher in First Grade, where my path at an elementary school teacher began.
I believe in teaching the whole child: intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. First and foremost, a child must feel safe and welcomed in his/her learning environment. I am looking forward to working together with you to have a wonderful year in which your child reaches his/her full potnetial.
