Teaching is my passion and I strive to encourage, empower and educate young people to become confident, life-long learners. It’s a true labor of love that I began in 1992, and I have never looked back.
I started with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from West Chester University. I taught for three years in a parochial school in West Milford, then onto Haskell School in Wanaque, where I taught for six more years. I took several years off to care for my growing family and completed my master’s degree at William Paterson University to be certified as a Reading Specialist. I worked as a substitute teacher here in Montville, and a classroom aide before becoming a part time Basic Skills teacher at Cedar Hill School for two years. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to continue this instructional support role at Woodmont.
I am proud to say that Woodmont has been my family’s home for many years, as all three of my children were Woodmont Wildcats and graduated with much success, moving on to Lazar and the high school. I was lucky to be a PTA volunteer for ten years as a part of the support team of parents, and now I’m excited to be part of the teaching team, supporting the students in the classroom.
Outside of school I’m an avid sports fan, and have been coaching softball and basketball for many years in town. I enjoy cheering on my children as they participate in sports or musical performances. You can often find me taking pictures on the high school football field or at other sporting events, playing with my dog in the backyard or accepting a one-on-one challenge in a driveway hoops game!
