The Annual Valley View Elementary School 5th Grade Winter Concert was held on January 12, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.

The 74 members of Valley View’s 5th grade class performed in the Chorus. In addition, 20 student musicians performed in the 5th Grade Orchestra, 15 performed in the 5th Grade Band, and 18 students performed in the Orff Club presentation.

The concert was produced by Music Teacher Samantha Ivins, who also directed the 5th Grade Chorus and Orff Club musicians. Music Teacher Zachary Naughright directed the 5th Grade Orchestra and Music Teacher Rick Ketay directed the 5th Grade Band. Art Teacher Lauren Byrne created the exciting and sparkling winter scenery.

For seven consecutive years, Montville Township Public Schools have been recognized nationally as a Best District for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants [NAMM].

These 5th grade Valley View Elementary School musicians will be entering middle school in the fall, and were invited to continue their music education at Robert R. Lazar Middle School. Valley View and Lazar are part of the Montville Township Public Schools district in Montville Township, New Jersey.

The concert includes Classical, pop, rock, show tunes, and folk songs.
