Good morning,

As we get ready to welcome our in-person students at MTHS and Lazar Middle School next week, I want to make sure that all parents are registered in the rSchoolToday Daily Health Screening App.

Here is a link to the step by step instructions for installing, verifying and reporting in the app.  Instructions

Here are a few tips:

1.  This is a parent app, not a student app.  Student email addresses are not in the database, so they will not be able to install and verify the app.
2.  If your child is in one of the elementary schools or Lazar Middle School, please select Montville Township Public Schools.  If your child attends MTHS please select Montville High School which is under the Northwest Athletic Conference heading.
3.  The app instructions explain how to report screenings for several students.
4.  If you have students at the high school and another school, you will need to toggle back and forth between schools.  This can be done from the "Calendar" screen.  At the top right hand corner of the Calendar screen, click on the icon and then on "Change School."  This logs you out of one school and allows you to log into another school.
5.   If you child is full-time remote, you do not need to report a daily screening.  For in-person students, you do not need to report a screening for the days when your child is not in school.
6.  If you are unable to verify, it is likely that your email address is not in the app database.  This is a quick fix on my end.

If you have not been able to install/verify the app, please email me at Rene.Rovtar@montville.net.

We are looking to discontinue use of the Google forms option, so we want to resolve any outstanding problems that you may be experiencing with the app.

We want to get everyone up and running for Monday to streamline the process for the school nurses.

Have a great day!

Rene Rovtar

Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff and Students:

Thank you for all your patience this week as we have opened school in very unique circumstances. It has been wonderful to have our elementary schools open and we look forward to welcoming our middle and high school students back on September 21st for in-person instruction.  We acknowledge that there needs to be a period of adjustment as we become familiar with new learning platforms, longer parent pick-up lines, and the various other procedures and protocols put in place to create a safe learning environment for all our students and staff.

We have been resolving issues with our Daily Screening App and continue to do so.  While we have made a Google Form available as an alternate means of reporting, we need to shift everyone over to reporting in the rSchoolToday screening app.  If you have not downloaded the app yet, below are the step by step instructions.

https://www.training.rschooltoday.com/page/2661/custom/5451

If your child is attending Montville Township High School, please select Montville High School.

If your child attends one of our elementary schools or the middle school, please select Montville Township Public Schools.  If you have students at both the high school and another school, you can select either as all students should be associated with you according to your email.

Please make sure to select “parent/student” and not “other” if you are reporting for a student.

If you are a staff member, please select “staff.”

If you have students at the high school and another school, you will need to toggle back and forth.  This can be done from the “Calendar” screen.  In the top right hand corner of the Calendar screen, click on the icon and then on “Change School.”  This logs you out of one school and allows you to log into another school.

If you are still seeing “Cedar Hill DHS,” on the Calendar page, this does not mean that your child is assigned to Cedar Hill School.  If you refresh your app, the “Cedar Hill DHS” should disappear.

If you have difficulty installing or verifying in the app, please email me at Rene.Rovtar@Montville.net.

It will streamline our process if all parents and staff could use the app to report their screenings beginning on Monday. If we are still resolving access issues for you, you may continue to submit through the Google Forms.

Students who are full-time remote students do not need to complete the Daily Health Screening.

Middle and High School students do not need to begin to submit daily screenings until September 21st. All in-person middle and high school students should submit a screening on the days they are attending in person.

Parents still need to report any student absences using the regular procedures identified by your child’s school.

Sincerely,

René T. Rovtar, Ed.D.
Montville Township Superintendent of Schools

UPDATED 9/7/2020 at 6:30PM. New work-around for reporting Daily Health Screening IF  you cannot get the APP to work. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN for the proper form for each building:

September 7, 2020

Dear Parents, Guardians, Faculty and Staff:

First  of all, I want to apologize for all of the frustration with the Daily Screening App. I know many of you have worked on trying to get verified in the system many times over the weekend. There were problems with the student database, which have been corrected, but some of you are using email addresses that are not in the system and therefore the app is not allowing you to proceed with the verification process. Some of you have selected “other” rather than “student” and the system has allowed you to verify, but ultimately your students will not be reported in the correct category.

I know many of you submitted trouble tickets to our IT department. We will be responding to these as quickly as we can to get everyone up and running on the app.

Our work-around for the time being is a google form that you will complete each day. .

Below please

find a link to the form

for each building.

(Middle and High School Students should not be reporting screening results until September 21st)
