
APPLE PICKING TIME!
Objectives:
Students will be able to read and write the word apple.
Students will be able to use describing words to tell about apples.
Students will be able to recall the sequence of Johnny Appleseed story.
Students will be able to identify parts of an apple.
Students will be able to use graphing skills to show favorite kind of apple.
Students will be able to recognize different types of apples and their characteristics.
Students will be able to show correct letter formation of upper and lowercase Aa.
Here is an apple poem we read to help us learn our new sight word:
APPLE
How many times do you see the word Apple?

We practiced our upper and lowercase "Aa" handwriting and then made our own apples to hang in the classroom. We identified three parts of an apple: 1. The stem 2. The leaf 3. The flesh

We also had an apple tasting in class and graphed our favorite kind of apple. Our choices were Granny Smith, Red Delicious, McIntosh. The favorite was Red Delicious. Click on the link to find out more about this type of apple.

We sequenced the story of John Chapman (Johnny Appleseed) and watched a video that told about his life and his journey.
