November

Halloween is over, but there is still plenty of fun and excitement in Mr. Fennes’s class for the month of November!  First, we will have class elections for the President and Vice President of our class.  The children who would like to become President or Vice President will give a speech on Election Day, November 6th and then the class will vote!  One of the roles of the President of our class is to be the “voice” of the class to Mr. Fennes.  The President will speak with Mr. Fennes when the children would like to go outside, are confused or concerned about something or just have questions.  He or she will also help any substitutes that are in the class for a particular day.

Also, the children will now be divided into five groups, each representing a Native American Tribe.  The tribes will be various ones from around the United States.  Each tribe will have a Chief, Warrior, Hunter and Farmer who will be responsible for researching their role in their tribe.  The children will create speeches to present to their parents and each other at our Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 21st!  Parents will represent the Pilgrims and bring various food items for our feast!  So mark your calendars and we hope you can attend the feast on November 21st!

As you can see, with the Native American Tribes, Election Day, conferences and the various early dismissals and days off, November is a very fun but busy month here in Mr. Fennes’s class!
