The Montville Township Public Schools understands that it is the collective responsibility of all communities to help all students who are displaced by the recent storm. The federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act outlines the requirements for serving such students.
It is our goal to provide a safe learning environment for all students who may have been displaced by the storm. If a child is displaced and relocates to our district, the law requires that we enroll that student immediately and suspend the request for documents normally required.
If students of the Montville Township School District have been displaced, the law allows them to continue in their school of origin, even if they are permanently displaced.
