The place to be this Saturday,
April 1, 2017 is at the exciting Montville
Township High School Color Run. Over 300 people have already signed up for
the fun, healthy-living, family-friendly event. A 5K run will begin at 10:00
a.m. Walkers will embark on the 1-mile course at 10:30. Everyone is welcome to
participate. Registration ends on Friday, March 31. Registration is on-line at

“This is an event for families or individuals,” said Dana
Bertoli. “Anyone from anywhere can participate because there is something for
everyone at the MTHS Class of 2017 Color

Mathematics Teacher, is also the Varsity Girls Soccer Coach and a Senior Class
In addition to a 5K Run
and 1-mile Walk, there will also be a DJ and a spring-like spectacle called a Color Explosion.
“This event will be fun
and it supports a great cause: our 2017 graduates. It will be a healthy, active
and colorful day,” Bertoli explained.
Organized by student,
teacher and administration volunteers, the Class
of 2017 Color Run idea was the result of a brainstorming session between
the senior class officers and Principal Douglas Sanford. The goal for the event
was to involve at least 200 people from the school, the district and the
community at large. By March 30, the original goal had been far surpassed and over
320 had registered. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to fund the 2017 MTHS
“The enthusiasm for The Color Run has been tremendous,” Bertoli
added. “This event feels like the beginning of a new MTHS tradition. We are
prepared to accommodate hundreds more, so no one has to miss this exciting
opportunity. I hope everyone registers on-line by March 31 and comes out to
enjoy the fun.”

Schools’ first ever Color Run is
attracting a lot of excitement. Founded in 2011, the mission of The Color Run Organization is “to bring people together and make the world a
happier, healthier place. “.
“This is an exciting new
program for MTHS,” Principal Sanford said. “The
Color Run will help create awareness for healthy living and raise funds for
an important cause. Already there are over 300 people signed up to participate.

but you can do it at your own pace,” said Bertoli. “There is no time limit. You
can run, jog or walk. It is a fun, colorful, family-friendly event.”
To participate in the
first Annual MTHS Color Run, people
must register on-line by the end of the day on Friday, March 31. Fundraising levels
