WebQuests are designed to use learners' time well, to focus on using information rather than looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. The objective of this activity is to enable you to better understand the background and basics of a WebQuest. Additionally, you will create and construct a basic WebQuest Template for use in your classroom. The Task Work independently and with your colleagues to access and utilize the Informational Sources listed below to answer the cited Questions, draw conclusions and implement new practices into your classroom. You will: · View the WebQuest video. · Answer the Questions by visiting and exploring the listed guided research sites. · Utilize your findings to enhance and differentiate instruction in your classroom. Questions · Where was the first WebQuest developed and who can be credited? · What are the basic components of any WebQuest? · What does an excellent example of a WebQuest look like? · What would my WebQuest Template look like, for use in my classroom? · When should I use a WebQuest format for learners? · What new practices will occur in my classroom as a result of utilizing WebQuests? · What new technology skills have I acquired as a result of utilizing WebQuests?

The Process · Answer the questions above. · Locate an existing WebQuest which you feel is excellent. · Create a Webquest Template from a Microsoft Word Document. · Create a Webquest for a chapter, unit or topic in your classroom. · Note the new technology practices you have learned along the way.
