Info's mission is to "improve access to online educational resources by
developing an easy to use subject directory covering each academic
discipline." The focus of the site is on academic materials, "with its
intended audience at the upper high school level or above." You can browse
by subject headings, search by keywords, or choose a subject gateway.
Choosing the "Education" subject gateway will lead you to a wealth of
information on education topics.
AskERIC
(Educational
Resources Information Center)
AskERIC, the first registered education site on the web is an
"Internet-based service providing education information to teachers,
librarians, counselors, administrators, and parents...throughout the
world." AskERIC encompasses the resources of the entire ERIC system and
beyond, using using the subject expertise of the 16ERIC Clearinghouses (and
adjunct clearinghouses) to respond to education requests and has served millions
of educators, parents, and students from around the globe over the past ten
years. Also included are the ERIC Database, the world's largest source of
information on education research and practice, as well as a Q&A service,
Lesson Plan collection, and much more.

Blue
Web'n is a "searchable database of over 1800 outstanding Internet learning
sites categorized by subject area, audience, and type (Lessons, activities,
projects, resources, references & tools)." The database contains only
the "most useful sites - especially online activities targeted at
learners." Users can browse the Content Table or Subject Area guides, or
conduct a Refined Search by Grade Level.
EdSelect
EdSelect is a superb collection of sites chosen for classroom use by teachers in
Ontario. Pat Elliot, a teacher-librarian with Simcoe County District School
Board, has selected these sites. Curriculum Areas (Grades 1-8) are highly
recommended.

"Educator's best Friend" site boasts a searchable database of over
500,000 sites. It allows users to browse sites under: lesson planning,
curriculum now, technology in the classroom, school issues, administrator's
desk, and more. You will find their topic guide and advanced search interface
most useful. Both simplify the search for specific information on class lessons
without overwhelming the user.
Gateway
to Educational Materials (GEM)
The
GEM site provides educators with quick and easy access to thousands of
educational resources found on various federal, state, university, non-profit,
and commercial Internet sites. Users can browse sites by subject or keyword, or
by desired grade or educational level. GEM is a one-stop educational resource to
Internet lesson plans, curriculum units, and activities pertaining to all K-12
subjects.
Kathy
Schrock's Guide for Educators
Updated
daily, this guide includes the best sites for teaching and learning, and it has
a great annotated Subject Access directory. There are also sections on Search
Engines and other search tools, as well as general Internet information.
The Additional Information section holds Kathy's training slide shows, material
on evaluating Web pages, a monthly new sites list, and much, much, more.
This sites is designed for teachers to enhance curriculum and professional
development.

twelve subject areas: American history, art, computers, current events and

especially good information and links to "adult/Continuing Education,"
"College/University," "Primary/Secondary Education," and
more under their "Education" section. Bookmark these and check

California-Riverside" includes some 105,000+ sites, grouped into 12
annotated, indexed categories for easy retrieval on this site. Two of
these categories are "Instructional Resources: K-12" and

is a great starting place to find quality information on the Internet. Click on
the "Education" section and you can search under subcategories, such
