Kseniya Kozarevich — Painting

This is a very large scale linoleum print. I completed this piece in Art I. The assignment was lanterns that were brought into the class by our teacher and I took the idea and made this lantern very abstract. I like the use of color of the art work. Currently this piece of art is hanging in my living room.

This collage was also done in Art I, but it is composed of colored construction paper. The assignment was to make a sense of movement, flow and unity. I accomplished that by combining colors, and geometric and abstract shapes to even out the composition. This art work was 18” by 24” inches and it is displayed in my room.

This painting is considerably old, because it was done by me a couple of years ago. It is a canvas with red paint. Then I took a snowman shaped cookie cutter and dipped it in white, green, and blue paint repeating the pattern over and over again. The message and I was trying to send was that the society is a bland (of white), be unique and special and stand out in your own ways. The colored snowmen are the once standing out in the white bland of society.

This is a silk painting that was done by me in 8th grade. I stretched silk on a wooden frame and painted it with ink. The golden outline of the leaves was special for silk, because the colors would not run beyond those points. The gold was supposed to be washed off but I left it for a more dramatic effect.

This painting was done by me in my free time. It is a paradise sunset, somewhere where I would like to move. I think that this art work has a lot of harmony because the colors and the calmness bring this piece together. The purple compliments the black and blue and the yellow stands out in the painting.

The bottle and the pomegranate is one of my more abstract paintings. The abstract strokes make the paining more detached but still interesting. The pomegranate stands out and draws you’re eye into the folds in the background. This art work is currently handing in my room.
