MISSION STATEMENT

The school library media center reflects the goals and the philosophy of the district and is committed to the purpose of implementing, enriching, and supporting the teaching program of the school. We are proactive in developing information literate students and supporting an information literate community.


GOALS

    1. Provide an aesthetically pleasing and practical learning environment.
    2. Provide access to a wide range of relevant resources and technologies to meet the current
      information needs of staff and students.
    3. Facilitate the acquisition and development of the information skills that form the basis of lifelong
      learning.
    4. Promote a love of reading for pleasure.
    5. Acquire the resources necessary to provide a high quality service to the Montville Township
      High School community.

COLLECTION AND SERVICES

The MTHS library media center has a growing collection totaling approximately 15,177 items. The center has 24 computers that are available to students and staff, provides quality recreational reading as well as a wide range of educational material designed to support the academic program of the school. Research can be undertaken using books, magazines, newspapers, videos, and electronic information sources such as full-text online databases, and World Wide Web sites.
